911, seriously...

Well the 911 part is for real, but let me backtrack and give the history leading there.

Wednesday this week Jack went in for his 2 month appt. He had a cold but the doctor said he was fine, but said keep an eye out for worsening symptoms because it is RSV season.
That leads to Friday- It seemed like Jacks symptoms were getting worse- he actually slept and ate okay, but when not doing those 2 things he was fussy and coughing more and occasionally breathing hard. We took him to Children's ER at Emmanuel. Sarah got there around 4pm Friday. The admitted him to the hospital around 1am. They gave hims some treatments, but found that he did not have RSV and seemed okay to let go. Saturday they came home around 10am.
Ironically , to me anyway, Jack sounded worse coming home then he did when he got there. He was constantly wheezing when awake. Saturday night/Sunday night Jack was having trouble eating due to the wheezing so at 5:30am or so we called our Doctor. The on call person said call 911.

So on to the 911 experience...
First thing was when we called it was straight to instant hold- that was surprising. After a minute or two Sarah was through to the 911 operator. The usual name, address, etc...
Then to contrast the slow initial response, the ambulance arrived less then a minute (I'd say more like 30 seconds) after Sarah hung up. That was pretty amazing speed.

So Sarah and jack are back at the hospital. This time they got into a room by 8:30 , so the ambulance definitely sped up the ER experience. Jack got some nebulizers treatments and seems better now. His breathing seemed to be better in the day after the treatments and they sent him home again around 8pm Sunday. He is sleeping now and seems to be doing fine.

Not our top choice for the weekend. Audrey did get a couple playdates, so it wasn't all bad for her.

Our 2 questions du jour- 1) did the post contractor environment affect things 2) should Jack have gotten shots while already sick, did that play in... I;m sure we will never know

thats all folks, hopefully no more drama and just pretty house and baby pictures
